PHOTOS WANTED
Could anyone with a photo of club member Ray Usher’s white VL Commodore Calais Turbo (Club Permit number 36249H) please contact Ron Woodward on 0400 250861.
Unfortunately, the Commodore was destroyed in a recent accident and Ray has no photos of it. He was very attached to the car. He regularly displayed it at our Show Us Your Car Nights.
NECC 70th Birthday celebrations
At the beginning of June, we had a tremendous celebration for our historic 70th anniversary celebrations.
Over 70 people enjoy the night that was held at the Wangaratta turf club and hosted by our MC. Paul Zsidy.
A display of club cars welcomed those attending as they walked towards the function room, before enjoying a fabulous three-course meal, and stories from life members, former presidents and other club members.
Our guest speaker on the night was famed long-distance rally competitor, Matt Bryson, who entertained us into the evening.
A big thanks to Jodi Mann and Luke Whitten for their organisation before and on the night, and to Paul Kent for his work in arranging the car display.
We are one of the oldest car clubs in Australia, and reaching our 70th birthday is an achievement that we all should be very proud of.
We look forward to what the future holds for the club.

Trip to BJR a huge success
The club held a hugely successful trip to Brad Jones Racing in early June.
Over 60 NECC members and friends took the chance to look over the team’s Supercars, with expert information provided by key team members and engineers.
We’d like to thank the team at BJR for they hospitality and willingness to show us their impressive operation.
Good luck to BJR for the remainder of the 2023 season.

AOMC Member Survey
Members are encouraged to read the following letter from the Association of Motoring Clubs (AOMC) and complete the survey linked below:
Greetings AOMC Member Club
As per our previous advice, the AOMC, together with some other State level peak bodies have agreed to partner with the Australian Motor Heritage Foundation (AMHF) in conducting a National survey to gain valuable data on the economic value of the enthusiast movement in Australia. This data can be used to demonstrate to the Government and other key stakeholders the value of our clubs and the enthusiast vehicle movement to the Australian economy and also the associated social benefit through travel and events.
We are respectfully asking that you circulate the link to your members and encourage them to participate. As stated earlier there is no obligation for club members to participate and it is totally voluntary, however the more data the greater the representation and credibility of the survey data and therefore the chance for our movement to have a voice with key stakeholders.
The survey should take 10 – 15 minutes and is totally voluntary for each club member. It is totally anonymous – no individual identifying details are required to be entered other than your club’s name and postcode and the questions are very generic. The survey is being conducted on the Survey Monkey platform by the economics advisory firm, The Mercurius Group under contract to the AMHF.
The survey link has been emailed out based on publicly available contact details advised on your club’s website or social media pages. In case you have not received the survey directly, the link to the survey is below:
