Financial members of the NECC are eligible to apply to drive their historic or classic vehicles under the VicRoads Club Permit Scheme.
VicRoads is responsible for running this scheme in conjunction with the AOMC (Association of Motoring Clubs), which the NECC is a member of.
The Club Permit Scheme is not vehicle registration – it is a special type of “permit to drive” an unregistered vehicle, under restricted use provisions. A reduced third-party insurance premium is payable, based on the fact that the vehicle is not in regular use.
NOTE: You must be a current financial member of the North Eastern Car Club for your NECC-administered Club Permit to be valid. If your membership lapses, so does the permit. You will then be driving an unregistered vehicle and open to penalties for doing so.

CLUB PERMIT SCHEME: VICROADS UPDATE
VicRoads has advised that their customer service centres still accept Club Permit renewals payments.
However, if permit holders do not wish to attend a customer service centre, they can continue to renew permits by post*.

NECC recommend posting your renewals using Australia Post ‘Domestic letter with tracking’ envelopes. This method will provide you with the ability to track your envelope.
