The perfect opportunity to dip your toes into the world of gravel rallying has arrived, with the upcoming Killawarra Rallysprint.

Set to run on Saturday, April 18, the S1 introductory Club Rallysprint is designed squarely at breaking down the traditional barriers to entry.

Run on closed public roads within the Killawarra Forest, near Wangaratta, the event offers a safe, controlled, and highly cost-effective environment for aspiring drivers and co-drivers to learn the ropes.

Adding an extra layer of competitive edge to the weekend, the rallysprint will also serve as a standalone round of the Historic Rally Association’s (HRA) popular Standard Car Class Rally Series.

While rallying is notoriously expensive, the Killawarra Rallysprint strips the costs right back with an entry fee of just $200.

Competitors only require a basic Motorsport Australia Speed Licence, rather than a full rally-spec licence. While highly recommended for safety, expensive apparel like Frontal Head Restraints (FHR) and full race suits are not mandatory for this introductory event.

Because the event takes place on public forestry roads, competing cars will require full road registration or an Unregistered Vehicle Permit (URV).

Crews will tackle a single 5.9-kilometre stage throughout the day, with all attempts over the stage to count towards the final overall results.

With the field strictly capped at 30 cars, competitors are encouraged to get their entries in quickly.
