It’s easier than you think when you join a Car Club.

If you own a car (or even if you don’t) there is a good chance you believe there is more to motoring than getting from point A to B.

Next step Motorsport
The North Eastern Car Club Inc. (affiliated with AASA and Motorsport Australia) is able to provide you with a variety of legal, safe, organised yet challenging and exciting motor sport opportunities.

Before you can become a Supercar driver or win the Australian Rally Championship, you must become a member of an affiliated club such as the NECC.

Club Meetings
Regular monthly meetings are held at 7:30 pm on the first Wednesday of every month at the NECC’s Clubrooms at the Tarrawingee recreation reserve.

A short meeting of general business followed by motorsport video’s, guest speakers and a social catch up.

Motorkhanas & Khanacross
Motorkhanas are the most common starting point. These events are designed to develop vehicle handling and advanced driving skills. Usually held on grass or dirt surfaces, these timed, manoeuvring tests require the competitor to complete in the shortest possible time, a prescribed course laid out with flags. Penalties are applied by going the wrong way or hitting flags.

Sprint Meetings
Are run at local racetracks like Winton, Wilby or the Logic Centre. They are a forerunner to motor racing where a competitor can hone their driving skills.

Rallying & Rallysprint (Gravel & Tarmac)
Car rallies vary in difficulty from simple novice events to state and national events, using a purpose-built car and comprising 2 members in a car, over several stages of varying distance.

Driver Awareness Program
The NECC recognises that the involvement in authorised controlled motorsport activity improves car handling skills and therefore, eventually promotes safer driving on our roads.
As a community service the club has implemented infrastructure to provide supervised, educational motorsport for junior drivers aged between 12 and 18 years of age.
The junior drivers are taught basic and advanced car handling skills within a controlled environment.
